Visual impairment (VI) is an important public health issue. VI, which includes blindness, affects hundreds of millions globally, and has a substantial burden on the individual’s quality of life, as reduced vision affects mobility, independence and emotional well-being. The team has developed a suite of culturally-sensitive, computerized adaptive tests that can comprehensively measure the impact of VI, as well as common VI eye conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration, on several patient-related constructs.
