A new funding pathway, called the Singapore Therapeutics Development Review (STDR), was unveiled in conjunction with the official ceremony of the Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC) in Biopolis, officiated by Mr Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, and Chairman of the National Research Foundation (NRF).

STDR brings together three separate grant schemes from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) and National Health Innovation Centre Singapore (NHIC). STDR aims to streamline the evaluation process of therapeutic assets, and provide adequate support for promising drug discovery and development projects. Together, these three grant agencies will pool their resources and expertise to fund early-stage projects up to S$750,000.

The grant pathway will be open for applications in early 2020.
