Ng Yi Zhen

Yi Zhen graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science with honours (First Class). She obtained her PhD in 2013 from the University of Dundee, UK (A*STAR-Dundee Scholarship) under Dr Andrew South and Prof Birgit Lane where she studied the role of microenvironment in inherited skin cancers such as epidermolysis bullosa and multiple self-healing epitheliomas. She worked in the Institute of Medical Biology as a research fellow on blistering diseases, before taking on the role of programme manager and subsequently as co-lead for the Wound Care Innovation for the Tropics IAF-PP which is the world’s first programme that focuses on innovation and research in chronic wounds in the tropics and Asian populations. She is currently on secondment to NHIC.
